Ryan's Czech List for Team USA

Dreams do come true.  I was chosen to represent TEAM USA in the 2018 International Street & Ball Hockey Federation Juniors World Cup in Czech Republic on June 28-July 1, 2018.   I am extremely honored to represent the USA, my hometown, and my family while playing the sport I love:  Ball Hockey.

My name is Ryan McDermott.  I’m a 16 year old Sophomore at Kiski Area High School in Leechburg, Pennsylvania.  I have always LOVED hockey.  When I was six years old, I started playing roller hockey at the Valarena Roller Rink in North Apollo, PA.  It was a lot of fun and the older I got, the more competitive I became.  From there, I was introduced to ice and dek hockey.  I enjoy playing any form Hockey, but I found my favorite at Greater Pittsburgh Dek Center in Penn Hills, PA.  I have represented the Penn Hills Arsenal and Pittsburgh Lightning clubs locally and have played in several National tournaments as well.  When I found out that there was an International Tournament, it became my personal goal to make team USA.  I’m so excited and proud that I accomplished this goal.  The next step to realizing my dream is making  to the tournament.

The road to Worlds has not been an easy one.  I’ve had to overcome some obstacles to make it this far.  For example, I broke my leg last year, keeping me from attending two of the three tryouts for the team and several tournaments.  I’m still so humbled and thankful that I was chosen.  That’s why I want to make it to this tournament so badly.   But,there is still another obstacle ahead of me:  the expensive hurdle.  Would you consider helping me with this one?  It’s a costly journey, as you can probably imagine.  I will use any money that is donated to me towards plane tickets, hotel fees, and any costs that are required for me to attend this tournament.

PS:  I will post pictures, videos, and updates of my games to my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Ryanscze... so you can cheer us on!  USA USA USA!
