At 59 I'm trying to buy my first home and finally found a property that feels like home to my family and I. We love the place and are moving forward with the process of trying to buy it, but the reality is that it's almost $80K over what I hoped to spend. The problem with that is it means that I now only have a 16% deposit, rather than 20%, which may well make the difference whether or not I can afford the payments. Which is why I'm trying to raise the extra $20K to bridge that gap.
I know this is not a very altruistic ask, but I have no other source for funds. Like many families, even with a good job, we essentially live paycheck to paycheck and I'm exercising every dollar I'm capable of gathering to get to the 16% deposit I have available.
If you can help, please do, that's all I ask. This is a potentially life changing event for us, adding to the series of life changing events in my lives and our lives since coming to Portland. I see this as the next chapter in our lives and know that if it's meant to be it will be, but that includes the belief that whatever needs to happen for this to be our home, will happen. You can help with that.
