Medical for Roxy

Update 5/11/2020:
We had originally been able to raise the $830 needed for Roxy to have her spay, mass removal, and biopsy, but in April, Roxy became very ill and had to be hospitalized. Her bill was almost the full amount we raised + prescription food we purchased. We are needing to raise the $800 again for Roxy.

Roxy is a 7 year old German Shepherd that our sanctuary pulled from a local animal shelter. Her owners had surrendered her due to being able to take care of her medical needs. Roxy has several health issues, she is a strong Heartworm positive, has bad hip arthritis, and is unspayed and developed a mammary mass that recently ruptured. The shelter posted her for rescue in hopes that someone would love her and give her a soft spot to land vs. having to be euthanized in the shelter.

Roxy was picked up on 3/4/2020 by Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary. She was seen by our Vet on 3/5/2020. We found out in addition to the issues above that she has a urinary tract infection and a double ear infection. The first office visit cost $726. Roxy has a long road ahead of her but we are hopeful that she has many more happy years ahead of her at the Sanctuary. She started a slow-kill heartworm treatment yesterday and antibiotics. Once her infection has cleared up she will undergo surgery to have her mass removed and to be spayed. She will also have radiographs at that time to rule out any potential bone cancer where her front right elbow is swollen.

We are asking for help in covering the first Vet fees of $726 as that came out of our feed account for the Sanctuary, and to raise another $1000 in hopes of covering her mass removal, spay, and x-rays in addition to any additional medications she may require.
