I bought a house 2 years ago and have been fixing it every since. The previous owner hid every problem and my home inspector did not catch any of the issues. Since I bought this house, the water heater broke, furnace went out, sump pump broke and flooded basement, lots of mold was discovered, basement has water issues from the foundation, main water pipe rotted out and cracked, kitchen pipes and bathroom pipes needed to be replaced, dryer started smoking, small leak on the roof, and many other problems. I did not buy a fixer upper. I thought I was buying a house that was move in ready where my family can call home. I have children that was expose to the mold. I talk to several lawyers and they have stated this will be a hard case to win due to the fact I have to prove previous owner knew the problems and an inspection was done. The home inspector can only reimburse the inspection cost. I have put thousands and thousands of dollars trying to fix each problem. I have borrowed from my 401k and I have filed for bankruptcy due to this house. I am desperate to finish my house and finally enjoy it. Please help.
