Eli has made his getaway

This is Eli. Eli weighs 80 pounds and is 36 months old. He was owner surrendered to the shelter because his family could no longer care for him. The shelter volunteers grew to love Eli. He is sweet, goofy and loving. In spite of all this Eli has sat at animal control for three long months. His shelter is very rural with little foot traffic and it seems that no one wanted an 80 pound love bug. He was overlooked time and time again for smaller, more "adoptable" dogs . We planned on networking handsome Eli and then more dogs kept coming in to the shelter and that didn't bode well for dogs like Eli who had been in AC for some time ? but then a wonderful rescue that we work with saw Eli posted on the Fannin County Animal Control Volunteers page and fell in love with this hunka hunka. They just knew that they could find the perfect home for Eli. Transport to rescue was today so we had no time to post Eli.....but how could we say no? So we made the decision to get Eli ready for his Zoom Zoom ride and today this Lovely boy boarded transport with his back pack and a smile ❤

As Eli boarded transport today...he was grinning from ear to ear....he just knows that something wonderful is about to happen for him ❤
