To save a friend...

I'm raising money for my best friend, Fred, who is fighting stage four cancer. He is strong, he is brave, and he is focused, but this is a fight that could level anyone, especially with the complexities of insurance and treatments. It can make fighting for your life just one of the things on your daily list. 

It is also an expensive process. Between deductibles, out-of-network expenses, and specialized treatments only done in out-of-state hospitals, it can add up very quickly. No one should have to worry about these things while dealing with health issues, but then no one ever accused our health-care system of being perfect. What this situation has become though, is an opportunity for me to help a friend who would normally reject charity of any kind. Since everyone needs a hand now and then, I am doing what I can to help him through this difficult process.
