I was homeless until a few days ago. Suddenly, I didn’t feel so good. I was dizzy and disoriented, and I couldn’t get to the food or water before others had eaten it all.
I saw people walking by, so I asked them if they would help me, but they just walked around me. I couldn’t walk straight anymore and kind of staggered, and people wouldn’t even look at me.
Finally, a girl that brings food stopped for a bit, so I gathered my courage and called to her. I walked the best I could toward her while asking for help, and she didn’t run away!
Instead, she made kind noises and took me to the hospital. They did tests and found out I have a severe form of Covid that affects my brain. It’s pretty scary. If she hadn’t helped me when she did, I wouldn’t be alive right now!
