I'm running the SHAPE Women's Half-Marathon in NYC on April 15th. For those of you who know me, running was never easy for me. This will be my second half, and I'm thrilled to be surrounded by so many strong women for 13.1 miles!
I hope that you'll sponsor me as I raise money for Born Dancing, an NYC nonprofit of which I serve on the Board. Born Dancing is an organization near and dear to my heart. Our organization creates one-of-a-kind dance performances featuring dancers with and without disabilities and offers dance education programs for Students with Disabilities and High-Needs Students. Our dance education programs and performances provide Students with Disabilities with real-world dance performance and production experiences, apprenticeships to learn job and social skills, and internships in performing arts production and related fields to facilitate employment of people with disabilities and dance/theater production.
As a dancer, I can't even put into words how important it is to expose everyone to the arts. No matter what your ability is, dance should be inclusive.
