Heartworm Hachi needs YOUR help!

UPDATE 7/12:  We have a rescue for Hachi.  They need our help to save this awesome boy!  

This is Hachi.  He is an Akita mix.  He is AMAZING.  He walks beautifully on leash, sits, shakes, is dog friendly, and from what we have seen of him with our kitties, he is cat friendly, too.  So, how did he end up on the Last Chance page?  He is high heartworm positive.  He will need to undergo heartworm treatment.  Here at the shelter, heartworm-positive dogs are passed up all the time because people don't want a dog that could be sick.  This dog is super awesome and we desperately want to get him out sooner than later.  Hachi's age is estimated at 4 years old.  He weighs 65 pounds and appears to be the picture of health.  But the hw test doesn't lie and Hachi needs help sooner than later!  If you can pledge so that we may be able to get a rescue to step up for him, please do!  No amount is too small!
