Hello, I'm Awsam Shaban, 19 years old. I am currently trapped in Gaza, but am supposed to begin medical school in Algeria in September. This fundraiser is to help me raise the costs to evacuate to Cairo once the border re-opens, and then to travel to Algeria. I need to raise $15000.
I graduated last year from high school with a 94% average in scientific studies. I aspired to enter medical school, but realized financial circumstances wouldn't allow it. Instead, I applied for scholarships abroad intended for Palestinian students. University acceptances were delayed, so I decided to study within Gaza. I enrolled in software engineering, but the war erupted in the third month of my studies. I was later accepted for a scholarship in Algeria for dentistry, but due to the war and exorbitant travel costs, I couldn't leave Gaza. Now, I'm stuck here, hoping this nightmare will end soon so I can pursue my dream of studying medicine outside Gaza. I hope my dreams come true and that this link helps me stand on my own feet and start my life anew.
