REBUILDING THE BOMBED ENCLOSURES

It was July 19 2022, Everyone had

dinner, although there was tension in the air. I was sitting

on the bed in the wagon, Sasha, my husband, at the table.

Suddenly a sharp sound of an airplane, as if it's falling..

How I ended up on the floor, I don't remember. It's like the

plane hit the roof of the car... And all at once a scary

explosion. Windows blew out, cabinets hit and wall split. I

just heard Sasha scream, - are you alright???

He shrugged

me by the shoulder, looking into my eyes. The walls l was

sitting next to was riddled with explosive debris all through.

Sasha dragged me through a broken car to the exit. Very

frightened shelter workers were already standing there. We

immediately rushed to the forest because the plane was

flying again. It was very scary I tried not to panic and calm

people down but to no avail. Sasha threw himself into the

shelter, behind the ponĂ­veÄŤeno Be3 Niva to get everyone

out. And our lifeguard has begun!! Beat up with shell

debris, no glass or hatch, but she started! How eight of us

fit in there, I don't know. How Sashko didn't lose the

steering wheel at a crazy speed, under fire, on the mud I

don't know. But he saved everyone, took us to a dangerous

place. And then .... And then he walked back to the shelter

because the enclosures were burning. It was already dark,

bombs and gunshots were fired, but he came to the

shelter, opened cages burning on fire, saving animals. He

hoped that the fire trucks would come, and he waited for

them for three hours, trying to at least somehow extinguish

the flames. But unfortunately, firefighters couldn't drive

through because of the fierce bombing and shelling.

This is how i died next to every animal killed…….. This pain will never go away.    It hurts to remember the shelter was like, 

We are planning a huge construction of new modern, fireproof enclosures.    

We understand that in one go, we won’t rebuild the shelter, but we can do it in part and people like our supporters and friends can help and vent anger at the same time, those who hurt our country.

So get involved with it,  we are collecting funds to rebuild new enclosures.   We certainly aren’t believe to raise much, but I’m sure for animal safety we can reach the goal.
