What is Qurbani and why is it important?The act of Qurbani(sacrifice) is carried out following the Eid Adha Salat or prayers which are performed in the congregation on the morning of the Eid dayThe act of Qurbani consists of slaughtering animals and sacrifices to mark this occasion in rememberance of prophet Ibrahims sacrifice for the almighty Allah.
The sacrificial animal must be a sheep, Goat, Cow or a Camel. As a goat consist of 1 Qurbani share whereas a Cow or a Camel consist of 7 shares per animal. The animal must be in good health and over a sutain age to be slaughtered humanly and gently
Many Muslim families in Uganda cannot afford to buy meat for a simple meal throughout the year. For countless deprived people, the pleasure of eating meat is only sometimes possible once a year which is on the day of Eid Adha.

"There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of Qurbani than the sacrificing of animals. The sacrificed animal shall come on the Day of Judgement with it's horns, hair and hooves (to be weighed). The sacrifice is accepted by Allah before the blood reaches the ground.
