Bucks for Binks

This is Emily "Booger" Binks. She was rescued on Halloween 2021 and was in very bad physical condition. She was missing fur in places, extremely malnourished, and had mucus drainage that had caked over her nose so badly she was forced to breath through her mouth. She saw a vet a few days later who diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection. At this visit we found out she was 6 months old and only weighed 1.8 pounds. She was sent home with antibiotics and treated for worms and fleas. She improved a little and began to gain some weight until her antibiotics ran out. She quickly reverted being unable to breath, always sleeping, and not eating or drinking. We returned to the vet in early december and were told that she probably just needed a stronger or longer round of antibiotics. So they sent her home again with a 3 week round of antibiotics and antivirals, gave her ear drops for an ear infection she also had, and treated her again for worms. They tested her for Feline Leukemia and HIV, but both returned as negative. Again, she improved while on the medication and quickly worsened as soon as it was gone. I took her to a different vet in January who did x-rays and an exam and found that she has a small mass in her throat and another above the roof of her mouth. In hopes that both were abscesses, he prescribed 3 weeks of 2 different antibiotics and then a recheck to see if the masses had decreased in size. Her recheck appointment was yesterday. Unfortunately the masses have not gone down in size and there is no longer anything a normal vet can do for her. She now needs who see a specialist who can do a CT scan to get a better image of what these masses are and can then go in surgically to remove them.
Her weight is up to 3.3 pounds now. As long as she is on antibiotics, she eats everything in sight and is full of energy. She will run and play with the other cats we have and she is fast as lighting when they chase each other. If I stand near the couch arm or close to my bed, she will leap from there to my chest where she expects my to hold her, scratch her head, and gently rock back and forth on my feet while she takes a nap. She is the most loving, sweetest cat I have ever met. She follows my husband and I around the house and outside. Everytime we move she moves. When we go outside to let her run and play, she comes back as soon as we call for her unlike most cats who do things on their own time rather than when asked. She does not know what fear is and will walk straight up to every cat, dog, or human that she meets like it is her best friend.
Most of all she is a fighter! With the condition she was in when I found her, she should not have been alive. But she was, and she has fought hard to continue to live. The masses she has inhibit her breathing, cause mucus to constantly pour from her nose, and hinder her ability eat. Yet, amazingly, she is still here, fighting each day to get better! I am asking for your help to get her there. I cannot financially afford the costs of the specialist she needs to see to help her get better. Anything you can afford to give will be a huge help and will be greatly appreciated! I just want her to have a chance to grow up and live a healthy live. She has fought so hard to still be here. Now it is our turn to fight for her!
