Our first book is about Pirate Kim and her adventures with her dog Lulu and her talking magical broom Mika. Pirate Kim bravely and skilfully saves a drowning child, shares her water safety skills, and wins her a place in a new community.

The beautifully illustrated book tells a story that makes water safety messages and tips memorable for kids and parents. Pirate Kim’s story is  told in English and Vietnamese, for kids across English speaking countries and Vietnam.

We are committed to making 500 books FREELY available to as many kids as possible in Vietnam (in orphanages, disadvantaged schools and Nippers clubs). This is because each day, almost 6 children drown in Vietnam^. This makes drowning the number one cause of death for children in Vietnam. We want to change this, and what better way than through story-telling to impart water safety skills.

Má»—i ngày, có gần 6 trẻ em bị chết Ä‘uối ở Việt Nam. Điều này laÌ€ nguyên nhân số má»™t gây tá»­ vong cho trẻ em ở Việt Nam. 

Chúng tôi nhận thấy sá»± cần thiết phải chú troÌ£ng vaÌ€o giáo dục an toàn dưới nÆ°á»›c, đặc biệt là ở Việt Nam. VaÌ€ không có cách naÌ€o tốt hÆ¡n bằng truyền tải qua câu chuyện. Lời nói của chúng ta hình thành thế giá»›i của chúng ta. 

Chúng tôi là một nhóm các tác giả, họa sĩ minh họa, biên dịch viên, được thừa hưởng nền di sản văn hóa từ Úc, Việt, Pháp, Nhật Bản và Hương Cảng. Mục đích của chúng tôi là giúp trẻ phát triển đa ngôn ngữ với các kỹ năng sống cho một thế giới toàn cầu.

Cuốn sách Ä‘Æ°Æ¡Ì£c minh họa sinh động vaÌ€ câu chuyện lôi cuốn taÌ£o hiệu ứng laÌ€m cho nội dung giáo duÌ£c dễ Ä‘i vaÌ€o loÌ€ng ngÆ°Æ¡Ì€i. Câu chuyện của Cô cướp biển Kim sẽ được kể bằng cả tiếng Anh và tiếng Việt, cho trẻ em ở các nÆ°á»›c nói tiếng Anh và Việt Nam. 

Chúng tôi cam kết sẽ gửi tặng 500 cuốn sách MIỄN PHÍ cho nhiều trẻ em ở Việt Nam taÌ£i các trường hoÌ£c có hoàn cảnh khó khăn và các câu lạc bá»™ thiếu nhi taÌ£i địa phÆ°Æ¡ng nÆ¡i có nhiều nhu cầu giáo dục kỹ năng an toàn dưới nước.

OUR STORY

The story of Pirate Kim is crafted from a unique collaborative process over six months with a team of authors and illustrators with Vietnamese, Australian, French, Japanese and Chinese cultural heritage between us.
