Once upon a time, there was a dog named Joey Jamocha. Dark as night and warm as sunshine, he longed for a home to call his own. You see, he’d been a wandering pup, abandoned and friendless, roaming the rural roads of the North Georgia mountains. He had no one to love and care for him, no one to run to when times were tough. To many who saw him, he was just a dusky spot on the horizon, forgotten moments later. But he knew he was much more than that. Kind and sweet as the magnolia blossoms that wafted through the sultry Southern air, he could only imagine the comforts of a home, a place of shelter from the oppressive heat of summer. When someone finally looked at him instead of past him, they discovered that the hair around his neck was gone. His skin was raw, a sure sign that he’d been living on a chain. Dogs are not yard ornaments. They should be cherished members of the family. But Joey never knew that. He never got the chance to know the love of a family. But his story isn’t over. In fact, it’s just beginning. Now, thanks to the mighty Rescue Army, his story has a fresh start with our friends at Doggone Happy Animal Rescue. Thank you for giving this special boy a new beginning.
