Help Save Niko's Grandma

My grandmother's dire health situation has forced my family to move my grandma across the country on extremely short notice. My grandma has suffered a series of strokes this year due to the stress of the traumatic events she's experienced within the last year. Unfortunately, my grandfather died within 36 hours of taking his Moderna vaccine. Given that my grandpa had just been given a clean bill of health right before taking it, it caught my entire family off guard, especially my grandma. Due to the politics of the pandemic, she had to spend $500 per day for weeks until the state provided the death certificate so we could cremate him. Subsequently, my grandmother was denied the majority of my grandpa's death benefits, despite my grandpa fulfilling the requirements for my grandma to receive them. And the scenario is impossible to fight without a lawyer. And, of course, no lawyer will work this case for free. Like many people around the country, all of my grandma's medical expenses increase and all of her bills were still due despite her now being disabled and my grandpa's full-time income no longer being a part of the equation. The strokes from the stress caused my grandmother to be nearly bedridden to the point she has a hospital bed in her home. In my grandma's debilitated state, someone who was once close to her stole all of the money, roughly $10,000, from her bank account. She couldn't make it to the bank to dispute it so her money is gone. Which means she would lose her home if we don't sell it in the next month. All this is in addition to the elderly abuse she's suffered that I won't disclose the details of here. All of these circumstances have caused the grandchildren to step up and take care of her to the best of our ability. Although we're adults now, moving my grandmother, packing her house up, traveling to tie up loose ends, and everything else that comes with these types of situations is an overwhelming financial burden on us while accounting for the fact that most of her adult grandkids do have families to take care of as well. Although $6,000 is no where near the cost of the expenses of moving her across the country and tending to her medical needs, it's a MASSIVE start and gives us enough cushion to sell her home so that she has a nest egg to hold on to while we try to get her financial situation under control.

I cannot tell you all enough how much my grandmother means to me. She's the matriarch of my family. She's taken care of all of us and made sure no matter how hard times got, that we always had a Christmas when we were children and always had a place to lay our heads as adults. She is largely the reason for the person I've grown to become. We've already lost our grandpa just over a year ago, and if we don't get my grandma to a healthy, loving, and safe environment...who knows what could happen? But with your help, we don't have to take that chance! Thank you all so much for your shares and contributions.
