The hope for Nina - Female Bull Dog found in Brookhaven with a major prolapse - No Microchip
Nina was found in Brookhaven close to the train station. A woman felt heartbroken when she noticed the Bulldog had a major prolapse and immediately took her home for the night. By accident, I also got involved in the case. I went to their home with my chip scanner, but unfortunately, the dog didn’t have a microchip and wasn’t spayed. The woman took her to a vet but found she could not afford the surgery expenses. I scheduled an appointment with Brookhaven Animal Hospital to help with a second opinion and the vet recommended that I go to emergency care because the life of the dog was at risk. They suggested bringing her to Dekalb Shelter, the situation there was not the best because we all know the overpopulation of dogs and cats and if a dog requires an expensive treatment they will have to put the dog to sleep at some point. It’s a hard and sad situation and I got involved in this case without looking for it.
I am writing this because I am a Brookhaven resident who loves dogs, I go to Brookhaven dog park with my pets, take good care of them and I have a good heart and this case touches me. I have some experience rescuing dogs with my resources from my work but this time I could not do it alone and we need to cover $2,500. The dog is being helped, there is no owner to claim the dog, and the woman wants to keep the dog and I want to do my best to help both.
There is no small amount, every contribution counts and I don’t mind sharing the receipts and sensitive pictures.
Thanks.
