UPDATE 6/18 Love Shack Rescue has stepped up for Rosco ANNNNND.....wait for it....they took Bella, too. Her new name is Mugsy and she is super sweet. She came into the shelter emaciated and heartworm positive, so Love Shack will need help with her vet bills, too.
5/28/2020
Rosco was picked up, on 5/28, he was with a huge Mastiff type dog.
When he came into the shelter he went to the intake area to be vetted.
His left shoulder and foreleg appeared to be atrophied. The leg was tightly tucked up. Apparently, he has not used it in a very long time. There is no muscle mass, at all, on his whole shoulder. Also, two of his toenails, in that foot, were embedded approximately and inch and it was very infected.
It was necessary to muzzle him for the vetting. He must have been in so much pain.
A few days later I brought him out to take photos. He was very subdued. He wasn’t very active. He just wanted to lay down on the mat by the door.
After his stray hold was up we did his hw test. He tested low positive for hw.
We do not have a vet on staff, so we are limited to basic vet care.
So now, he is in limbo. We do not have the funding to help him, so I am reaching out to rescues to see if they can help him.
At this time we have $695 in pledges for the rescue that steps up for him.
Let me know if you need any more info.
Thanks so much for your time.
