Help Maddie Beat Hepatoblastoma

My  name is Molly and I am raising funds to support my best friends and  their beautiful baby girl, Maddie, who has been diagnosed with liver  cancer.

From Meghan (mom):

"One week after Maddie's first birthday, I noticed her belly was  really distended and firm. Thinking it was gas, I gave her a day to  decompress. When that didn't happen, I became suspicious that something  was going on. We went to see her pediatrician, and he sent us over two  hours away to the children's hospital in Atlanta. After a bunch of tests  in the ER, it wasn't looking great. We heard words like, 'likely  carcinoma' and were quickly sent via ambulance to the pediatric oncology  department. A couple of days later, after many tests and sleepless  nights, we heard the life-changing words: our angel has hepatoblastoma, a  cancerous mass the size of a grapefruit in her liver."

Maddie will undergo chemotherapy to shrink the mass enough to operate and remove a large portion of her liver. Each chemotherapy session requires an overnight admit to the oncology  department as well as labs and scans weekly. Although it is devastating  to watch her struggle each time we enter the hospital, we know she is  getting the best care possible."

At only 13 months, Maddie is strong, feisty, and no doubt a  fighter. However, her family needs support to fight this battle. Maddie  needs to be home playing with her older brother and sister, not in  hospital beds.

Being a pediatric cancer mom as well, I (Molly) understand the  financial burden and emotional toll the journey has on a family.
